In need of help... 16yr old starting work tommorrw needs two questions answered :)?

Ok ladies and gents i am going to be starting my first job tomorrow, one of the things the manager of the karting centre told me was to start up a bank account so i could get paid. Never got to the bank in time to do so, will this mean I wont be able to work tomorrow? and also how long does it take to start up a bank account. BTW I live in the UK.
