Vagina hurts during sex?!! Help me Please.?

Ladies I have no clue what is going on. When I have sex now it hurts so bad. My boyfriend have to put his penis in a certain way in order for it not to hurt. Every time he put it in it feels like something is blocking his way to go all the way in. I jump everytime. It doesnt hurt when I am on top though. I plan on going to the doctor but question.....(please don't judge me)... what kind of doctor should I go to. The GYN or family doctor. I was thinking both like i honestly don't kno. But this pain that I feel need to go away. Has anyone experince what Im going through and can anyone name the possiblities of reasoning of whats going on. This was not my first time having sex.
