This is so confusing please help :((....?

So my bf and I have been together for about 9 months now. We are both 18. Our relationship has been really up and down, even to the point where my parents now hate him and refuse to let him in the house or let me be in the same car as him. However, they do let us hang out once a week. I am totally appreciative of my parents being cool with letting me and my bf hang once a week, because after all of the times I messed up this past year, my parents are still allowing me to have some freedom. My bf however is NOT ok with this. He says my parents are controlling me and that I need to stand up for this relationship and be able to see him whenever I want. I told him that I wish that I could see him more, but after all the hurt he and I put my parents through this year that we have to respect their rule of seeing each other once a week. My bf still continues to tell me that my parents are trying to ruin us and that I must not care about the relationship very much if I can't stand up to my parents. This is TOTALLY not the case! I just don't want to HURT my parents anymore! My bf doesn't understand this :( I'm so confused. Does anyone have any insight about what's possibly going on? :(
